Sample Project Checklist (from Week 6 of Money Matters)
6-17 (70pts) Rich Dad, Poor Dad
Whether you chose to read Rich Dad, Poor Dad or the thinner version for teens, there are 10 Chapters. By now you've read the whole book (they're both really easy reads) and you'll pick out six chapters to outline.
In your outline, make sure you've identified for each of the six chapters the main thrust or purpose, reference any specific anecdotes or examples used, and at illustrate least one personal take-away of how this has impacted or will impact you.
The Prezi tool is complicated enough that I really recommend watching several videos on it. Even if you've made Prezis before, please choose at least one or two vids to watch to see if you can learn some new tricks: http://prezi.com/support/
Three Prezi tricks I have learned: #1 You can only adjust frames that are smaller than your current view. So if you are on a frame and want to shift it around, you have to click to go to a larger frame so that the one you were on becomes clickable. #2 Use invisible frames! They are what make it possible to control the flow of the show, focusing and zooming on text more specifically than is possible in the circle or bracket frames. #3 It's hard to figure out how to delete elements sometimes. Either make them impossibly small or shift them down to the end of the show behind a "The End" slide.
PROJECT CHECKLIST
____ Use http://prezi.com/ to create an "outline" with 6 general areas corresponding to the chapters you've chosen to highlight.
____ Each chapter-area must contain 1) main thrust, 2) anecdotes/examples, and 3) personal take-away.
____ The prezi needs to be visually engaging and attractive. The zoom tool must be used, and if you think it can be plain text, forgetaboutit.
____ Embed the Prezi into a page on your Portfolio, then copy/paste into the Submission area the URL for your project page and this Project Checklist with every ____ marked with an __x__ to show completion.
